Tavares Group Consulting Speaking at AIAG’s Corporate Responsibility Summit

Tavares Group Consulting Inc. is excited to attend and participate in the Automotive Industry Action Group’s (AIAG) upcoming Corporate Responsibility Summit in April. The event provides the opportunity for industry leaders to collaborate and learn best practices on topics ranging from social connection, leadership, risk assessment, global regulation and standards, and more. Among the speakers, Sandra Tavares, Principal of Tavares Group Consulting Inc., will be speaking about practical strategies for sustainability implementation, using a process-based approach that has its foundations in a management system framework.

This year’s event, being held in Novi Michigan, is highlighting sustainable best practices through the value chain. As explained by Tanya Bolden, AIAG Corporate Responsibility Program Development Manager, “sustainability is often one of the topics that AIAG includes in our strategies. In the automotive industry, we have a very complex supply chain and multiple industry partners. [Currently], environment and sustainability is gaining visibility. As we tackle issues [like our] sustainability footprint, we can only do so with the help of all the tiers in the supply chain. As best practices, we can focus on initiatives at the OEM and Tier 1 supplier level because their success is our success, and is also a success for the entire industry. We are mindful of, and try to appeal to our entire membership base which is predominantly medium to small suppliers. This is why we focus on relevant sustainability topics, and include and welcome all to attend the Summit, to network and most importantly, collaborate”.

Additionally, representatives from Natural Resources Canada, ENERGY STAR, the Automotive Recyclers Association, IBM Corporation, and GlobeScan will also be sharing their insights and best practices. The 2015 Corporate Responsibility Summit will be held at the Suburban Collection Showcase in Novi, Michigan on April 29th to 30th.
