The Tavares Group team was honored to attend the 2013 Annual Pollution Probe Gala Dinner on November 19th 2013, held at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto. The event’s theme “Come Together,” was emphasized through Pollution Probe CEO Bob Oliver’s keynote address in which he stated, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” Industry leaders and members of municipal and provincial governments gathered together in Toronto for the gala, where interactive booths and successful collaborations were showcased to support the main message of this year’s gala
Colonel Chris Hadfield was honored with the 2013 Pollution Probe Award during the gala event. He was honored for his ability to bring people together and make Space more accessible to millions of people. In his speech, he noted how “we are all crew on this spaceship called earth,” reminding us all of our shared responsibility to our planet and the need to form partnerships and collaborate on initiatives that can bring progress and long-term change.
Tavares Group Consulting was thrilled to share the evening with our colleagues at Bruce Power, energyMobile and Steve Boles, President of Kuzuka Ltd. and our partner on the Sustainability Toolkit. It was an exciting evening that served to remind us all of the importance of collaboration to enact change.
Another highlight for our team was reconnecting with Dr. Dianne Saxe, Canada’s leading environmental lawyer who has served as a guest speaker during our annual workshop for Western University’s Master of Environment and Sustainability candidates. We have long admired her work and are avid readers of her website, EnviroLaw.
