Earlier this year we were happy to attend the 2015 Sustainable Communities Conference (SCC) held by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) in London, ON. Running from February 10th-12th, the conference provided a variety of training sessions, workshops and study tours that granted attendees the opportunity to share innovative solutions and ideas with colleagues and sustainability leaders in the community. Social media played an active role during the conference, with attendees live-tweeting some great ideas and insights using the event hashtag #2015scc :

If the broad variety of sessions and discussions that were had during the conference are any indication of the public sector’s commitment to sustainability integration, then the next few years will certainly be exciting. Sessions covered topics from sustainable asset management and procurement to integrating sustainability within Council. We look forward to the 2016 Sustainable Communities Conference, being held in Ottawa, Ontario.
