Drafting of ISO 26000 Guidance on Social Responsibility continues

Following extensive work during the summer months, the second working draft of ISO 26000 Guidance Standard on Social Responsibility has now been prepared, and distributed to the international working group experts for comment, with a deadline of December 4th, 2006. Canadian working group experts, drawing on the input of the Canadian Advisory Committee group, of which Sandra Tavares is a member, will be developing their respective comments for submission to the international working group, for discussion at the next meeting in Sydney, Australia in January 2007.

The timeline for the Standard is as follows:

  • Committee Draft (CD) – first quarter of 2007
  • Draft International Standard (DIS) – first quarter of 2008; and
  • International Standard publication – last quarter of 2008
